What is Naturopathy?

Naturopaths believe the body has the ability to heal itself.  The body gives signs as to what is wrong, which the naturopath has been trained to interpret and therefore help to heal. This is all done through a very thorough and detailed case history and iridology analysis.

Iridology is the art of looking at a person’s iris in order to determine its genetic strengths and limitations.  Every iris is different, and it gives clues as to why the person is unwell, and what is the best way to approach healing.  This is the reason why everyone is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another even though they may have the same illness.

Naturopaths can help with many conditions. Naturopaths can assist with both acute and chronic illnesses, things that you may have had for a short while, or years.  Naturopaths can assist people of all ages – from before a baby is born, to people at the end of life’s journey.  If applied correctly, Naturopathic treatment has long-lasting effects on health.  It is lifestyle changing rather than symptom focused. Naturopath and patient work together to improve their health.

Examples of conditions that naturopaths can assist:

Digestive disorders

In fact, most things that a person goes to their GP for, a naturopath can also assist with, however naturopaths use nutritional supplements, herbs, and homeopathic remedies in order to help the body achieve health, rather than pharmaceutical drugs.

Naturopaths also educate their patients so that they can become healthier people and achieve optimal health in the long term.  This is done by analysing the diet and lifestyle, looking for areas it can be realistically improved.
